Welcome to my page!

Hi there! My name is Daniel and welcome to my page. I'm currently a PhD student studying animal behaviour and movement ecology in the Schools of Biological, Earth and Environmental Sciences in University College Cork Ireland. I'm funded by the Irish Research Council Enterprise Partnership Scheme and Fota Wildlife Park who I will be working closely with. I hope you enjoy reading about my research and my thoughts on bits and pieces.

My aim with this blog is to share what I learn throughout the PhD. I'll try my best to entertain and to give some interesting information. I'll be sharing my thoughts on our weird and wonderful world as different ideas come to me so I apologise in advance if my topics are disjointed at times!

Most of my interest is about conservation, animal behaviour and movement. I like to look into the 'whys' behind animals' actions and behaviours. I'll be digging into this with my research with the cheetahs, giraffe, zebra and oryx in Fota Wildlife Park here in Cork. I'm also going to be playing a part in a conservation project for natterjack toads that are Ireland's rarest native amphibian species.
